Learn moreThe village of Mošnov is located in the district of Nový Jičín in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic, about 20 km southwest of the regional capital Ostrava.
A crucial moment for the development of the village was the construction of the airport in its cadastre, today known as Leoš Janáček Ostrava Airport, which has become a dynamically developing organism. This airport is the largest regional airport in the Czech Republic, an important air transport centre and entry point to the Moravian-Silesian Region. It provides regular and irregular international and domestic traffic, including cargo transport.
In the immediate vicinity of the airport, again in the cadastre of the village of Mošnov, an industrial zone of about 300 ha has grown up. Domestic and foreign investors such as Mahle Behr, Cromodora Wheels, Mobis, ABB, etc. have found their headquarters here.
The area has a railway line that connects the airport with the neighbouring village of Sedlnice and furthermore connects in Studénka to the main railway corridor between Ostrava and Prague or Brno. In addition, a railway container terminal is in operation in the OAMP area within the industrial zone. This makes the area a unique multimodal transport hub.
The village itself is, as mentioned above, within a short commuting distance from Ostrava, the industrial, social and university centre of the Moravian-Silesian Region.
