Subsidies for brownfield regeneration

The Regional Development Agency organized, together with CzechInvest and with the support of the Moravian-Silesian Region, a seminar for representatives of municipalities on 4 December. The main and widely discussed topic was the support of regeneration of municipal brownfields. Municipalities had the opportunity to draw attention to the first call of the Regeneration Program and the Business Use of Brownfields. Also they can propose to the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade constructive changes that could be incorporated in the second call. It is planned for the first quarter of next year. The first call, which was announced in July 2017, did not mention a single municipality from the Moravian-Silesian Region, mainly due to the unfavorable setting of the program conditions and the inappropriate timing of the announcement deadline in the holiday season.

The Agency intends to participate in the future in the modification of the conditions of the current program and in the creation of new support programs so as to increase the involvement of municipalities and private entities in the regeneration of brownfields and their subsequent use not only for business purposes.
